Tupac Shakur, known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was a seminal figure in hip-hop. Born on June 16, 1971, in Harlem, New York, Tupac’s early life was influenced by his mother’s involvement with the Black Panther Party. His music career took off with his debut album “2Pacalypse Now” (1991), which tackled social issues like police brutality and systemic racism.

Tupac’s subsequent albums, including “Me Against the World” (1995) and “All Eyez on Me” (1996), showcased his lyrical prowess and versatility, addressing themes of violence, hardship, and social inequality. Alongside his music career, Tupac was also an actor, starring in films such as “Juice” and “Poetic Justice.”

Despite his success, Tupac’s life was fraught with legal troubles and violence. He was shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, and died six days later at the age of 25.
